Frequently Asked Questions
Why do I need this?
Who do I need Should Something Happen, a Family Registry for?
To give families a roadmap to follow when they lose a loved one. It provides order, so there’s no guessing or contention about what their loved one wanted done.
Who gets this documentation?
The immediate family, so they know that such a plan and guidance exists.
Is this legally binding?
Not in a hard, fast way. However, the person listed in the Should Something Happen program may choose to have the documentation notarized in order to give it some possible legal standing.
How is something like this program good for the entire family, extended and otherwise?
If there is a plan and guide in place, it can take some of the stress, anguish, and bereavement that comes with a personal loss. The chance of family members contending or causing strife because there was no direction or articulation of wishes to be carried out, will be greatly minimized. The focus should be on love and support of the survivors.
