About Us
A Personal Story
At Should Something Happen, our journey began with a deeply personal experience that shaped our mission to ease the burden of planning for life’s inevitable events. Founded by Frederick Rich, the driving force behind our company stems from his own family’s struggle following the loss of his father to leukemia in 1992.
Amidst the grief of losing a loved one, Frederick and his family found themselves overwhelmed by the practicalities of organizing funeral arrangements and locating important documents within a short timeframe. The absence of a clear roadmap compounded their stress, highlighting the pressing need for a solution to alleviate such burdens during times of loss.
Reflecting on his father’s service as a Captain in World War II, Frederick realized the challenges faced in retrieving historical documents for ceremonial purposes. This experience underscored the broader issue faced by many families who lack a comprehensive plan for managing critical information and immediate wishes of their loved ones.
With the vision to offer a solution that addresses these challenges head-on, Should Something Happen was born. Our family registry provides a centralized platform for storing essential documents, instructions, and preferences, ensuring that families are equipped to navigate emergencies with clarity and ease.
From locating vital information during times of crisis to preplanning services with sensitive instructions, Should Something Happen empowers individuals to take control of their personal affairs discreetly and efficiently. Our platform facilitates what Frederick terms “personal family stewardship,” allowing families to address important matters without the discomfort or awkwardness often associated with such discussions.
Having experienced firsthand the difference proactive planning can make, Frederick’s own loss of his mother reinforced the importance of our mission. Through Should Something Happen, we aim to offer a vital form of self-care that provides peace of mind and minimizes regrets for individuals and their families.
At Should Something Happen, we believe that everyone deserves the opportunity to prepare for life’s inevitable events with confidence and dignity. Join us on our journey towards personalized, compassionate care for families everywhere.
